Flying to Disney World With a Baby
We flew from New Orleans to Orlando, which is about an 80-minute flight. I purposely booked a morning flight because I hoped it would line up with her nap schedule.
That ended up being one of the best decisions of the trip.
Our flight left around 10 AM, and after her bottle during takeoff, she fell asleep for about 30 minutes. The plane was also pretty empty, so we ended up getting our own row which made traveling with a baby SO much easier.
When she woke up mid-flight, she looked around completely confused about where she was, which honestly made me laugh.

These were one of the biggest hits of the flight. She loved sticking them to the airplane window, pulling them off, and throwing them everywhere.

We brought suction cup spinner toys for the airplane windows and tray table. They worked really well for keeping her occupied. Ours made noise though, so next time I’d probably buy quieter ones.
Snacks
Snacks saved us during both flights. Between snacks, toys, and people watching, she stayed surprisingly happy.

The timing worked perfectly with naps, everyone seemed less stressed, and the airport overall felt calmer.
Our return flight home was much fuller and a little harder because she wanted to move around more, but even then it still went really smoothly overall.
Taking Mears Connect From Orlando Airport
One thing we knew immediately was that we did not want to travel with a car seat.
Instead, we booked the Mears Connect motorcoach from Orlando International Airport to our Disney-area hotel. We paid about $70 round-trip total for two adults.
The walk to the buses inside Orlando International Airport is honestly pretty long when carrying baby gear, but once we found the buses everything was easy.
We loaded right on and headed to the hotel.
Why We Loved Using Mears Connect
The biggest reason we booked Mears Connect was because we didn’t have to bring a car seat.
That alone made the trip feel easier.
The buses also have:
- air conditioning
- luggage storage
- bathrooms onboard
- plenty of room for strollers and bags
The downside is that the bus makes multiple hotel stops, so the total ride took about an hour. But for the price and convenience, I would absolutely use it again for Disney World with a baby.
Staying Near Disney Springs With a Baby
We stayed at Hilton Palace in the Disney Springs area, and honestly the location worked out perfectly for a relaxing Disney trip with a baby.

The hotel is only about a 10-minute walk to Disney Springs. You literally walk across a bridge and arrive right at security.
Having Disney Springs nearby ended up being one of my favorite parts of the trip because it gave us something easy and low-stress to do outside the parks.
Hotel Shuttle to Magic Kingdom
The hotel offers free transportation to the Disney parks, but there are a few things to know.
The buses are not official Disney buses. They are large motorcoaches that run hourly.
One bus services:
- Magic Kingdom
- EPCOT
The other services:
- Hollywood Studios
- Animal Kingdom
The biggest downside is that these buses drop you at the Transportation and Ticket Center instead of directly at Magic Kingdom like Disney resort buses do.
That means you still need to take the monorail or ferry afterward, which added another 20–25 minutes to the trip.
The biggest benefit though is that Disney Springs area hotels still qualify for early entry into the Disney parks.
Our Day at Magic Kingdom With a 10-Month-Old
We went into Magic Kingdom with very low expectations.
Honestly, our only goal was:
“Let’s see how long she lasts.”

The Best Place to Take a Baby Break in Magic Kingdom
One of the best areas we found all day was near Big Top Circus in Fantasyland.
There were:
- fans
- shaded seating
- charging stations
- quieter areas to sit
When we arrived, several other families were already there feeding babies and taking stroller breaks from the Florida heat.
This became our reset spot during the day.
After feeding her, we put her in the stroller and grabbed breakfast from Sleepy Hollow while she took a one-hour nap.
Honestly, that stroller nap saved the entire day.
The Best Ride for Baby Naps at Disney World
The PeopleMover deserves its own section because this ride became magical for naps.
Later in the afternoon, she fell asleep in my arms while we rode it, and it ended up becoming one of my favorite memories from the trip.

They dropped us off at Disney Springs where we spent the rest of the evening walking around before heading back to the hotel for bedtime.
And somehow, it never even rained there.
Our Relaxing Resort Day at Disney Springs
The next day ended up becoming one of my favorite parts of the trip.
Instead of forcing another park day, we had a slow resort day by the pool.
We floated in the lazy river, let her nap poolside, and spent the evening walking around Disney Springs.
No rushing.
No pressure.
No trying to “maximize” every second.
Just a simple, meaningful family trip.
Is Disney World Worth It With a Baby?
For us, absolutely yes.
Not because she’ll remember it forever.
